While HIV has no specific gender, race, religion, lifestyle, or political preference and is considered an equal opportunity virus; it is important to bring awareness to specific populations that are disproportionately affected by HIV. There is almost a day of recognition for every month. Below, you will find a list of them. These days also help determine best times to organize events and calls to action.

February 7 - National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

March 10 - National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

March 20 - National Native American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

April 10 - National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

April 18 - National Transgender HIV Testing Day

May 18 - HIV Vaccine Awareness Day

May 19 - National Asian/Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

               National Hepatitis Awareness Day

June 5 - National Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day

June 8 - Caribbean/American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

June 27 - National HIV Testing Day

August 27 - National Faith HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

September 18 - National HIV/AIDS Aging Awareness Day

September 27 - National Gay Men's HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

October 15 - National Latinx HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

October 23 - Day of Action to End Violence Against Women Living with HIV

December 1 - World AIDS Day
